The Personal Development Of Celebrating Womanhood
TheLoudestVoice | March 11, 2010Not all women have completely managed to get a strong handle on being able to balance all the balls in the air at once. And who can blame them. In today’s world of women having everything, we often get a little lost on the small details of caring for ourselves. Yet we dream, have desires, want more out of our bodies, and hold the potential to be something great.
Not all of us have taken the time lately to pick up a new beauty perfume and treat ourselves to something wonderful. Some of us are still thumbing through an early pregnancy guide trying to figure out if this is the direction we want to go. And yes, most of us have a pile of fitness equipment that seemed like something we could stick with at the time we made that impulsive purchase.
As women we often want to know what having it all really means and if our life mandates that we arrive somewhere in order to have it all. We want to be able to chase our bigger dreams and we still want to catch a few stars on a clear night. Today, we get to choose our own style of fulfillment.
It’s not any easier just because we have more choices. Just like anything else in life, having so many choices doesn’t narrow it down to a good choice and a bad choice. There are grades of choices, some better than or equal to others on a different kind of scale.
Women do not have to become marred by their own well earned and hard fought freedom. If you want to get your first tattoo at the age of 50, there’s no one stopping you and there’s no one’s permission you need. This is the spirit of being a woman. This is the key to finding the heart and soul of who you are.
It’s beautiful to have it all but not need it all. It’s fantastic that one woman can be equally fulfilled as a stay at home mom while another is just as fulfilled not being a mother but knocking them dead every time she steps into her professional position.
Whether we choose to have a sundae with everything or a single scoop of fat free vanilla ice cream, our choices today are completely ours. If there was ever a time that women could celebrate and find themselves, that time is now.
