How To Prepare Different Lobster Recipes

TheLoudestVoice | October 9, 2011

Among the many types of seafood that people love to eat is lobster. A lobster is a large crustacean and normally cost higher than other seafood like salmon, fishes or shrimps. But then, the price of a lobster is worth it since lobsters are definitely very delicious and also healthy compared to red meats.

They are high in protein, low in fat, contains Omega 3 fatty acids and other vitamins and minerals thus making it healthy to add to your diet. The popular lobster recipes include grilled lobsters, whole boiled lobster and even lobster salad. Lobsters can be cooked in different methods depending on what you cooking method you like best.

For those who are not familiar on how lobsters can be cooked, here are some cooking methods for you to make use of.

The simplest way to cook lobster is through boiling. You only need a large pot and water for your lobsters. Chefs mostly prefer using salt water in cooking but if salt water is not available you can prepare salted tap water by adding about 2-3 tablespoons of salt in a pot of water. Seawater or salted water can add taste to the lobster and can even retain its natural taste.

Boiling lobsters can be a good start to preparing a more delicious lobster recipe like lobster thermidor. After boiling the lobster, you can cut it in half, add ingredients inside or experiment in preparing a more delightful recipe.

Another simple method to cook lobsters is steaming. It is said that steaming can reduce the instance of overcooking compared to boiling. An overcooked lobster will result to a stringy lobster meat and won’t taste that good. Thus, make sure not to overcook the lobster so you won’t be wasting the lobster meat.

Grilled lobster is what many people also like to prepare. With grilling, you need to cut the lobster in half. Make sure you tie the claws tightly with a rubber band so you won’t have any difficulty in cutting it. Other ways to prepare lobster recipes include adding ingredients like wine, herbs and spice for more delightful and flavorful taste. To make your recipe healthier, you can add vegetables.

Again, remember to make sure not to overcook your lobster. A lobster turns ready if it is already cooked and ready to be removed from the heat. Do an estimate and remove it from the heat if done cooking.

Fajitas: How To Make Them

TheLoudestVoice | June 22, 2010

Now I love Mexican food as well as the country too but out of all of this food I have to admit that fajitas are my favourite. Although making fajitas sounds like it is one of the easiest of dishes to make but if you are doing it properly you will find that it is very hard to do indeed.

I will go into details on the marinade soon but other things you need include peppers, onions and chicken. The very first thing that you need to do is actually cut the peppers and onions up and mix them together. If you do not leave them together you will not be getting the full flavour so make sure you are doing this. I would recommend you use one of the three main pepper colours, yellow, green and red. Cut the chicken up into thin slices next and leave this while you start on the marinade.

two lime juices are needed as basis of the marinade but before you do this grate up one lime rind into the bowl. You will then need to add caster sugar, oregano, cayenne pepper, cinnamon and salt and pepper. You should then add the chicken and mix the mixture together until all of the pieces of chicken are coated. You then need to leave this to marinate for around thirty minutes.

The next step is to cook the chicken, once this is piping hot add the peppers to the pan and place the chicken over a warm tortilla wrap and add guacamole, sour cream and of course tomato salsa. Once you have done all of this then roll it up ready for serving.

I learnt this recipe on my holidays on one of those Mexico holidays. I also learnt many recipes when I was out on myDubai holidays too.
