Swedish Airport Offer airbourne weddings
TheLoudestVoice | March 30, 2009Engaged couples now have one more option on how to get married. In Sweden they are currently offering the opportunity to get married 30,000 feet in the air on a plane. Some 523 couples tied the knot at the infamous Swedish airport in 2008, an increase of six percent on the previous year, and that figure could rise further this year as a number of new wedding venues are made available. Travellers from any nationality will have the option to say their vows in Stockholm Arlanda’s air traffic control tower or even on the wing of a jumbo jet. Granted there will not be any wedding catering on board but the idea of this radical way of getting married is to put more of an emphasis on the honeymoon and not the actual wedding itself. Private caterers transport and photographers are normally so expensive in a wedding so what is the point? You may as well save yourself some money and get married at an airport on the way to your honeymoon.
Helena Miller who is a press officer at the airport said that For couples of want to prioritise their honeymoon trip, a wedding at Stockholm Arlanda directly in conjunction with an air trip to their desired spot for a honeymoon is a great solution.
Couples getting married receive the same service as royalty, Nobel Laureates, rock stars, corporate executives, sports stars and Presidents. The airport in Sweden offers VIP services that sees staff take care of couples on their special wedding day. The service also offers to check couples into their honeymoon accommodation whilst the ceremony is taking place on board the aircraft, now you cant get more convenient than that!
This is truly a unique way to get married and I’m sure this will start to catch on with people from around the world who are after something a little different.
